International superstar Sir Tom Jones will perform at Chesterfield’s showpiece Proact Stadium.
The multi-million selling artist – known as Jones the Voice – will swap The Green Green Grass of Home for the green green grass of Chesterfield FC’s base on Saturday, June 7.
Club chairman Dave Allen said: “I am absolutely delighted that we have secured the booking of the one and only Tom Jones. Yes, we’ve finally pulled it off!
“He is without doubt one of the world’s best acts. For over five decades he’s been at the very top of the tree, playing to packed audiences all over the world.”
Producer Liz Hobbs added: “Chesterfield have been so keen to have Tom perform at the stadium. I cannot tell you how delighted I am to have helped realise this dream for the club. Watch out for an awesome night!”
Tom’s appearance follows a concert by Sir Elton John who attracted an audience of around 15,000 to the stadium in 2012.
Best known for hits such as It’s Not Unusual, Kiss, Delilah and What’s New Pussycat, Tom was knighted in 2006.
Tickets for Tom Jones’ concert at the Proact Stadium are priced at £39, £50 and £75.
They will be available on pre-sale to Chesterfield supporters on January 22 and 23 and on general sale from January 24.
