Teenage musicians offered chance to play at Sheffield’s 02 Academy

Promising young musicians are being encouraged to enter a competition that will give them the chance to play at Sheffield’s O2 Academy.

Youngsters under the age of 19 can become part of the ‘The Next Generation’, a new youth music festival initiative.

Participants will be mentored during rehearsals and coached by industry professionals.

They will also receive additional support with new ways of connecting with audiences, routes to market and social networking.

The initiative encourages mixing genres, so young people playing in traditional orchestras and be connected with pop, rock and urban musicians. Mentoring is due to start next month, so interested performers are asked to email frank@dmfdigital.com soon.
