Loxley Silver Band are playing at the bandstand in Weston Park, Sheffield tomorrow, Sunday, from 2pm to 4pm.
This is one of a series of Sunday afternoon concerts organised by Sheffield City Council in association with the Friends of Weston Park.
A spokesman for the silver band, which was formed in 1889, said: “The weather promises to make it a great day for a picnic and for meeting friends and family in the park while listening to memorable melodies and toe-tapping tunes from the historic Loxley Silver Band.”
The band, whose players range in age from 10 to 80, play various local events all over the Sheffield area such as garden parties, concerts and galas throughout the year. They also play traditional Sheffield carols and festive tunes at a pubs and a variety of venues during December.
Next Saturday at 4pm they play at the Rising Sun pub in Nether Green during its four-day Sunfest beer festival which starts on Thursday.
