Singers needed for new Sheffield choir

WANNABE singers are invited to test out their vocal chords at a workshop.

Sheffield City Hall is hosting an open session at to attract new members to a 12-week course starting in April.

Professional musician Andrew Booth wants all types of singers to sign up to be tutored by him in preparation for a special performance.

The course will focus on skills and dynamics needed to take to the stage, culminating in the Steel City Sings concert on Sunday July 14.

Songs synonymous with Sheffield, such as Pulp’s Common People and Arctic Monkeys’ Crying Lightning will be backed by a full orchestra.

The workshop takes place on Sunday March 10.
