Talent show winner Matt Cardle is to star in a Sheffield concert promoting organ donation.

The X Factor singer will join inspirational transplant survivors and singer Alex Jones on stage at Sheffield City Hall for the Donate Life gig on Saturday, July 13.

The concert, delivered by Transplant Sport, is the first of its kind and hopes to increase the numbers on the NHS Organ Donor Register.

The Star’s Gift of Life campaign also aims to sign up 12,000 extra names to the register before the Westfield Health British Transplant Games come to Sheffield in August.

n Tickets to the concert are priced £15 or £10. Call Sheffield City Hall box office on 0114 278 9789.
