SHEFTIVAL, the city’s new music and sports festival, really has got the X Factor – series winner Joe McElderry is now among the line-up.

Also on the bill are last year’s X Factor big names Marcus Collins and Misha B.

The Real Radio main stage will also play host to Fame Academy star Lemar, urban pop girl band Stooshe, The Noisettes, pop lads Lawson and The Lightning Seeds.

McElderry won the sixth series of ITV’s X Factor in 2009 and then Popstar to Operastar in 2011. He has sold almost 400,000 records and his fourth album, Here’s What I Believe, is out in September.

Fans will be hoping for a preview and hits when he joins 80 acts playing at Sheftival in Don Valley, Sheffield, on August 4 and 5.

The acts, on stage in Don Valley Bowl, will lead the charge on a weekend of family entertainment, including sporting activities, food, and drinks, timed to celebrate Jess Ennis’s Olympic final. A huge screen will show the games live.

Tickets are from £10, and free for children under six. For full details and dates go to www.sheftival.com and check out www.realradio.co.uk.
