SHEFFIELD’S Tramlines Festival - which was held for only the third time last summer - has scooped a top national award.
The music festival was named as the Best UK Metropolitan Festival at the UK Festival Awards held in London, joining famous events including Glastonbury and Bestival on the winners’ podium.
Festival director Sarah Nulty said: “We are all over the moon. There are so many people behind the scenes working on Tramlines in their own time and totally for free.
“Getting industry recognition like this is exactly what they deserve.”
Thje event is organised in partnership with Sheffield City Council.
Sheffield Council leader Julie Dore said it was ‘fantastic news’ for the city.
