A band with a singer described by a celebrity fan as having “the best rock voice since Janis Joplin” play in Sheffield this weekend.

Never the Bride are playing at The Greystones this Saturday (August 15) with their special guests, Doncaster ‘acoustic footstompers’ Rita Payne.

The headliners recently released their latest album, Jealousy, featuring a range of covers including Cocaine, Stay With Me Baby, Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood and Sympathy With the Devil. They will be featuring some of the songs on Saturday night.

Singer Nikki Lamborn and keyboard player Catherine ‘Been’ Feeney are also talented songwriters who say their aim is to “bring together a blend of strength and melody to each song, exuding their souls in music and lyrics”.

The compliment about Nikki’s voice came from The Who singer Roger Daltrey. Radio 2 DJ Bob Harris is also a big fan of Never The Bride, describing them as: “An absolutely brilliant band, one of the best live bands in Britain.”
