A great cast, fabulous singers, amazing dance routines, stunning sets, a dazzling light show and a magnificent live rock band. It’s got it all.
Then there’s Ben Elton’s superb script which, 10-years after it’s West End debut, has been tweaked with contemporary one-liners for this first ever arena tour.
The show, bigger and louder than the theatre version, deserved its five minute standing ovation on opening night at Sheffield Motorpoint Arena

But rebels, the Bohemians, are after rhapsody of rock and roll and a dreamer to lead them.
Enter Mig Ayesa, as Galileo, a dancing dynamo with the voice most rock superstars would die for. Love interest Lauren Samuels, of Over The Rainbow fame, is his potty-mouthed love-interest Scaramouche, with equally big vocals. X Factor and West End diva Brenda Edwards gives a voluptuous performance as Killer Queen, Sean Kingsley as Khashoggi, boss of her thought police, slips in trademark Freddie moves.
Musical beefcake Rolan Bell, a most unlikely looking Britney Spears, has a gifted voice as does outstanding Lucie Jones, a 2009 X Factor finalist.
Kevin Kennedy - Coronation Street’s Curly Watts - as ageing hippie, Pop, has got some of the best lines, but his comic timing and delivery brings the part to life.
Look out too for Barnsley girl Danielle Steers, 21, as a Mohican wig-wearing Bohemian. She does the town proud.
The real stars, of course, are Queen’s hits including We Are The Champions, Don’t Stop Me Now, Under Pressure, Somebody to Love, It’s A Kind Of Magic and yes, We Will Rock You. Not just the title, more a promise!
* We Will Rock You runs at the Motorpoint to Sunday, June 2. Tickets from £22.50. Buy in person, call 0114 2565656 or visit www.motorpointarenasheffield.co.uk.
