Rasp on record in double quicktime

Have your say

The two members of Rasp have more than more than one string to their respective bows.

Sheffield’s Matt Howden has made a name for himself as a violinist, mainly under the nom-de-plume Sieben, while Londoner Jo Quail excels on the cello.

Both usually do it by themselves, but not long ago teamed up for a quick collaboration – they became Rasp and wrote, performed and recorded an album in two days.

The numbers were written in front of an audience – both live and on the internet – at Red Tape Central training centre near the city centre, where Matt works as a tutor, and then played at the Lantern Theatre in Nether Edge to get them ready for the recording, which was made – again live with an audience – at Club60 recording studios off The Wicker.
