Fans waited seven months to see her in South Yorkshire – but she did not disappoint.

A sold-out Motorpoint Arena crowd rocked Sheffield on Saturday night when Jessie J rolled into town on her rearranged UK tour.

And her Alive gig proving a smash hit with her fans after months of anticipation.

Kicking off her night in the steel city with Big White Room, her revved-up crowd were off their feet from the first beat.

With mobile phones and glowsticks lighting up the Attercliffe venue, screaming fans lifted the roof as Jessie J – real name Jessica Cornish – belted out hit after hit.

Price Tag, Domino and Do It Like A Dude were her to-be-expected crowd pleasers, but her vocal acrobatics ensured the crowd’s adulation of Jessie J lasted her entire 90-minute set.

It was a young, hip crowd which packed out the venue, from gangs of screaming teenagers and excitable primary school-age girls and boys with their not-sure-what-to-expect parents to couples and groups of friends ready to party.

She praised the Sheffield crowd for their support, but it was soloist and The Voice coach Jessie J’s spectacular vocals which earned her deafening standing ovations throughout her set.

The crowd on the floor jostled for position at the front of the stage and security was needed when Jessie threw a sweaty hand towel out into the sea of waving arms in front of her.

But her army of fans did her proud and had hit Heartbeat dedicated to them.

With high-energy numbers including Sexy Lady and Laserlight getting the crowd going, Jessie J slowed down the tempo with Nobody’s Perfect and Who Are You with as much ease as she can move from one octave to another.

Not needing backing dancers or stunts to impress her fans, Jessie J lets her voice do the work.

Combined with her swagger, a series of costumes changes and some video footage showing the young Jessica growing up to become the superstar she is now, Jessie J commanded the stage.

With her hit song It’s My Party currently riding high in the charts, the lyrics were made for her Sheffield gig.
