Jazz singer-songwriter Jamie Cullum is appearing in Sheffield this weekend to promote his new album, Momentum, which he says marks an important part of his life.
Despite his boyish looks, the musician and BBC Radio 2 presenter is a married man of 34.
“It’s not one of those grown-up slick records,” he says.
“It reflects the crossover period from youth into adulthood.
“It looks at what it is to be responsible for another human life and at the same time being a person who wants to be a kid.”
Cullum and his wife, ex-model and author Sophie Dahl, have two young daughters.
“Lyrically, it’s probably more reflective than my early stuff,” says the artist who hit the big time 10 years ago.
Jamie Cullum will appear at Sheffield City Hall on Saturday.
