Huge Sheffield demand for John Lydon

Sex Pistols legend John Lydon won’t be doing any personal book signings at Sheffield’s Off The Shelf - due to the huge popularity of the event.

Johnny Rotten, as a generation remember him, has experienced such a massive demand at other events that he will be pre-signing only copies of his autobiography, Anger Is an Energy, My life Uncensored.

Autographed books will be for sale at his guest talk event, a highlight of this year’s book festival, at The Octagon, Western Bank, on Wednesday, October 15, 7.30pm.

And it will mean he has more time to take questions from fans, say organisers.

An Off The Shelf organiser said: “Due to massive and overwhelming demand at events on John’s UK tour, he will be pre-signing books only and not doing an individual book signing at our event.

“The pre-signed books will then be on sale at the venue before and after the event, subject to availability.

“We apologise for any disappointment this may cause. Off the Shelf will allow a longer time for questions from the audience so that as many people as possible have the opportunity to ask John a question.”

Anger Is an Energy, My life uncensored is published via Simon & Schuster.
