Tramlines is encouraging everyone to get behind Sheffield in the Live UK Music Business Awards
Sheffield-based artists and venues have been shortlisted for a staggering five awards - and now it is down to the voting public to decide the winner.
Now in its third year, the live UK Music Business Awards is the only event committed to presenting awards to the business people who drive the country’s contemporary live music industry.
Sarah Nulty, Tramlines director, said: “I think having so many Sheffield venues and artists shortlisted, really shows the rest of UK what we already know – that Sheffield is a fantastic music city.”
The awards recognise excellence and talent among promoters, venue operators, festival organisers and agents, through to artiste managers, brand impact and record label partnerships.
The Sheffield places and people in the running are:Harley Live - Best Indie promoter; The Leadmill - Best Venue for 800+ people; City Hall - Best Venue Theatre/Concert; Motorpoint Arena - Best Venue Arena; Wet Nuns – Best Breakthrough Band.
Sarah said: “Tramlines is all about showcasing what Sheffield has to offer all year around and attracting more people to our wonderful city. Seeing so many venues shortlisted really does that.
“It has been a fantastic year for Wet Nuns and they truly deserve their nomination. I wish everyone the best of luck and hope the whole of Sheffield, and Tramlines supporters will get behind our venues and artists and get voting.”
Shortlists of nominees were created with the help of specialist Voting Panels made up of industry professionals.
