Gerry and The Pacemakers set to walk in

Gerry Marsden is rather pleased to be crossing the Mersey to Leeds as he heads for the City Varieties Music Hall on Sunday 12th February. 'I love being on stage performing to people all over the globe,' he says. 'But it's always great to be in the North of England and I hear the City Varieties is a beautiful place to play.'''In 1962 Gerry and the Pacemakers were the second group to be signed by Brian Epstein; the first being The Beatles. They burst onto the scene with three consecutive No. 1 hits; 'How Do You Do It', 'I Like It' and 'You'll Never Walk Alone'.

Sixties legends Gerry and The Pacemakers certainly won’t be walking alone when they come to Doncaster later this year.

The band have announced a date at The Dome on November 1 as part of the Sixties Gold 50th Anniversary Tour.

The group, best known for hits such as You’ll Never Walk Alone and Ferry Cross The Mersey, will be joined by The Searchers, who had a hit with Sweets For My Sweet as well as PJ Proby, The Fortunes and Brian Poole and Chip Hawkes. Tickets on 01302 370777.
