Four Sheffield school friends are looking forward to a special party tonight – as they release their first record at The Plug.

The Wired started as a school project for four sixth-formers at All Saints School in the city.

The quartet – singer and guitarist Caleb Smelt, guitarist Jacob Beaumont, bassist Richard May and drummer Paul Gordon – have been generating interest across Sheffield and further afield with a number of shows around the city, including gigs at places such as West Street Live and The Rocking Chair.

They release their first EP, Don’t Settle For Second.

And to celebrate, they are having a launch party and playing live at Plug, Matilda Street, Sheffield city centre.

Guest supports on Saturday night are Time Sellers, The Mayfairs and Bailey Street.

Doors open at 7pm, tickets £6, may be subject to a booking fee also visit

The show is presented by Entertainment Sheffield and Gig Tripper, which gives local bands the opportunity to tour beyond their own city
