Theatre lovers wanting a romantic night out on Valentine’s Day need look no further than Translations - a tender and funny love story at Sheffield’s Crucible.
It opens this Thursday, and will run until March 8 - and to celebrate we are giving one lucky couple the chance to win tickets, a pre-show meal and flowers.
And your prize is to be taken this Friday, on Valentine’s Day.
Our winning couple will get a three course pre–theatre meal with a glass of wine at Crucible Corner, tickets to the play, and flowers courtesy of Monica F Hewitt Florists.
Tanslations, a Sheffield Theatres, English Touring Theatre and Rose Theatre Kingston production, is set in 19th century rural Ireland where farm girl Maire is torn between the affections of the local school teacher and the love of a British soldier.
Celebrating the Brian Friel season, Irish tapas and themed meals are being served at Crucible Corner, in Tudor Square.
Popular with theatre-goers, it offers an extensive menu and a range of beers, lager and wine. Book a table on 0114 273 8255.
Those with a valid Brian Friel ticket can present it at Crucible Corner to get a pint of Guinness for £3.
Tickets for Translations are £10 to £21, and may be subject to a booking fee. Buy in person, call 0114 249 6000, or buy online at www.sheffieldtheatres.co.uk.
