A YOUNG chef from Sheffield is hoping to clinch a nationwide cooking title.
Ellie Lee, aged 16, won the local final of the Springboard FutureChef competition with a menu of butternut squash, ricotta and spinach lasagne with sage butter.
The Birley Community College pupil will now take part in the regional final at Sheffield Hallam University on Thursday, February 14, with the aim of reaching the national final in March.
Ellie said: “I am so happy to have won.
“My family are so proud of me and I inherited my passion for food from them.
“Thank you to my teacher and to Springboard for providing this opportunity and experience.
“I am so very determined to get through the next stage – it is time to up my game.”
