So, here’s a bold claim: Urban Choola might just be my favourite Indian restaurant in Sheffield. It’s terrific.
Here, in a tiny little front room in a corner building of London Road, they do the sort of exquisite Indian street food that makes you wonder why you ever eat anything else.
Have you ever heard that phrase something sings with flavour? The food here positively stands up and belts out an entire opera. The thali – a meal made up of a selection of different dishes – consists of so many beguiling pots and plates you don’t know where to stick your fork next. And now, after being open a year, they’ve started doing take aways.
We ordered two hot plates (chatpate chicken wings and samosa ragda chaat), a couple of curries (chicken makhani and chettinadh) and a couple of sides (pulao rice and naan). Highly recommended.
