Takeaway test: Staniforth’s Bakery, Chapel Walk, Sheffield

Have your say

Sometimes the answer is right under your nose.

Within a two minute walk of the York Street office is pizza, all-day breakfast, Italian, Greek, vegetarian, fish and chips, burgers and endless sandwich shops.

One of the first of those was Staniforth’s Bakers - and there’s always been a queue.

There’s a good reason for that. Whether you go for the early breakfast roll, the hot lunch pork sandwich, pie and peas (until Easter or when the weather gets warmer) or the deli-style sandwich, it’s all good.

This time I went for ham salad on a french roll with the crisps and drinks special. Lots of lean ham, abundant salad with hard-boiled egg if you want it and all on fresh bread served by a jolly fleet of helpful staff.

It’s £3.15 for the lunch special with sandwich, sausage roll or crisps, drink and biscuit or cake.

Look no further.
