Eight minutes. That’s the time it took for Hong Kong Garden to prepare our takeaway – it took longer to read the staggering menu.
There are plenty of Thai-style dishes and Japanese curries as well as the traditional Chinese favourites on there.
I stuck with a Sunday favourite, the gyoza dumplings, and ventured out on a limb to have satay chicken.
The former were little drops of meaty goodness with a chilli dip, four is never enough, and the satay had a good kick to it although the sauce could have been thicker. Peanuts would have helped.
He went for a chicken overload – in curry, and salt and pepper poultry too.
The curry is always a proper end-of-weekend treat, with aromatic sauce, and some veg to lessen the guilt, and the spicy chicken puts KFC to shame.
