I’d heard good things about East One Takeaway – a sister branch of East One Noodle Bar in the city centre – which offers best cuisines from Thailand, Vietnam, Japan and China.
I had mixed seafood xao xa ot (£4.90), a Vietnamese-style dish with green peppers, garlic and lemongrass with some noodles on the side. It came loaded with flavourful vegetables which packed plenty of crunch without being overcooked.
One friend went for the East One special (£5.50), a huge feast of fish, meat and noodles, while the other had chicken in teriyaki sauce (£4.10) which went down a treat but lacked a bit of a kick. We resolved to try something spicier next time.
East One prides itself on three things – freshness, homemade sauces and healthy eating.
