DONCASTER students who designed a sandwich named after their college for a fast-food chain will see their product being served to customers tomorrow.
The teenagers, who all attend Doncaster College, will be congratulated by Doncaster Central MP Rosie Winterton – who is officially opening the new branch of Subway in the railway station on Friday at 1pm.
They created the sandwich, named the Hub Sub after Doncaster College’s campus, The Hub, as part of a competition run by the chain.
The low-salt Hub Sub, a mixture of meatballs and salad, will be on sale at the newly-opened shop.
Rosie said: “The competition was a fantastic opportunity for students to put their business and creative skills to the test – they did a great job.”
