A city centre restaurant has proved it is hot stuff with a major win in the Asian Curry Awards.

The Aagrah in Leopold Square, was crowned the Best South Asian Restaurant in Yorkshire and the Humber at the London-based Asian Curry Awards on Monday.

The restaurant is part of the 37-year-old Aagrah Restaurant Group, which has 15 branches across the Yorkshire region, including a venue at Crystal Peaks.

Receiving the award at London’s Park Lane Hilton in front of 700 guests from the industry, Zahid Iqbal, manager and regional director of Aagrah Leopold, said: “I am grateful to all our customers and staff .’’
