HUNGRY visitors to the Olympic Games will be served food by Sheffield folk after a group of workers were selected to help man the fast food stands at the event.
Nine people from Sheffield have been picked from more than 87,000 McDonald’s staff to join the firm’s 2,000-strong team at the London Games.
To be in with a chance of working at the Olympics, the employees had to pass a rigorous test of their speed, customer service and ability to work as part of a group.
As well as serving up meals, they will also have the chance to see at least one Olympic or Paralympic event, enjoy cultural activities and soak up the atmosphere of the 2012 Games.
An estimated 1.75 million meals will be served over 29 days to more than nine million people, including athletes and team officials.
There will be four temporary restaurants set up around the site.
