KEEPING their customers happy is a piece of cake for Doncaster pub The Woodfield Farm!

The Balby Carr boozer has introduced a huge range of homemade cakes for beer lovers with a sweet tooth.

The idea came to landlord Andy Fox when he decided the pub wasn’t making proper use of one of its food display cabinets.

“I just thought we weren’t using it and so tried putting one or two cakes in there and when I saw the response I thought, ‘There’s a market here’,” he said.

Now the Whitefield pub stocks an ever-expanding line of sweet treats, with 45 cakes on offer and more being added all the time.

Favourites include Mint Night Express, the Strawberry Dream cheesecake and Mars Attacks.

Andy said: “It’s got so popular now that people come in just for the cakes to take away and don’t bother stopping for a drink!

“All the cakes are made here - I used to do them all myself but now my bakers Gary Skelhorn and Anthony Fox make them all.”
