Ahoy, me hearties! Wentworth Castle Gardens has a fun pirate-themed trail over the summer holidays. Can you solve the riddle of Captain Long John Wentworth and find his hidden treasure? The trail goes around the gardens every day until Monday, September 2.
Tomorrow (Sunday), from 2.30 pm to 4pm, there’s also a fascinating chance to see inside the ‘big house’ with one of the guides.
Tours last approximately an hour and a half and they will reveal the hidden splendour of this once great house, its stories and its secrets as well as showcasing its modern life as a residential college of further education.
The start time is 2.30pm from the terrace outside the Long Barn Visitor Centre – visitors will need to allow time to purchase their tickets before the start of the event.
The full price is £8.50 (£3 for season ticket holders) and includes full admission to Wentworth Castle Gardens and car parking. Tel: 01226 776040.
