RSPCA Sheffield is hosting an Easter bonnet competition at its annual fair on March 28.

Children’s bonnets can be entered into the contest for £1 and there are lots of tasty treats up for grabs as prizes.

All the funds raised from the Easter fair festivities will go to the RSPCA Sheffield branch on Stadium Way in Attercliffe, which costs over £2,000 a day to run.

Acting general manager Tony Benham said: “Events such as these are vital to our long-term survival because we rely on them to raise much-needed money for our charity.

“This year, we are really pleased to be running an Easter bonnet competition which adds that bit of extra fun to the whole day and we hope lots of young people will enter it.

“As always, we’ve also got lots of stalls packed full of things for children and adults, lots to do and delicious refreshments.”

The event runs from 10.30am to 3pm.

n RSPCA Sheffield is appealing for bottled goods such as champage, bubble bath and perfume to go on its bottle stall at the fair. They can be dropped off at the charity shops at the Moor, Hillsborough Barracks, Woodseats, Stocksbridge and Firth Park or at the centre itself before Friday.
