The Armstrong Lie, Cycle to The Cinema, 8pm, 26th June, Longshaw Estate

As part of the Tour De Cinema/Yorkshire Festival celebrations counting down to The Grand Depart, Cycle to the Cinema are celebrating cycling on the big screen. The film chronicles sports legend Lance Armstrong’s rise and fall. Get on your bike and up to the National Trust’s Longshaw Estate.

* Tour De France, Stage 2, York to Sheffield, 6 July

In just three weeks’ time the world’s largest single sporting event is set to sweep into Sheffield, as Yorkshire stages the Grand Depart of the Tour de France. Stage 2 will come directly through and finish in Sheffield, entering at Midhopestones and taking in High Bradfield, Worrall, Oughtibridge, Grenoside, Hillsborough and the Lower Don Valley before finishing at the Motorpoint Arena.

*British Cycling Grand Prix, Wednesday 23rd July, Sheffield

City Centre Cycle Racing returns to Sheffield. The 3rd Claremont Sheffield Grand Prix will be the penultimate round of the British Cycling Elite Circuit Race Series and will incorporate the British Cycling Women’s National Road Race Series. It’s free for spectators and the evening will be full of action packed racing with live commentary from 6.30pm.

A truly inclusive 10k & 2.5k Fun Run attracting around 1,000 runners each year. Named after the first race held on the 10th October 2010, the creative course is not your regular road race. It is run on grass, road, paved paths and woodland trails. The course does have a few lumps and bumps, twists and turns.
