The huge hit show Dirty Dancing will make its Sheffield premiere at the Lyceum Theatre in April 2014 as part of a new UK tour.
The show is based on the iconic 1980s movie, starring Jennifer Gray and Patrick Swayze, about a rich young woman who falls for a dance instructor at an upmarket resort.
The song I’ve Had The Time of My Life was also a big hit.
Since opening in September 2011, the show’s first-ever UK tour has wowed audiences, breaking box office records.
The stage show has been seen by more than five million people worldwide, including a million at the five-year run of the London show alone.
Producer Karl Sydow said, “We are so pleased to be starting this new stage in Dirty Dancing’s UK journey.
“The unique combination of Eleanor Bergstein’s iconic story and the breathtaking dancing for which the show is renowned has proven so popular around the country that we are really looking forward to allowing new audiences to experience this timeless classic live on stage.”
Tickets go on sale on Saturday, March 23 from www.dirtydancingontour.com.
