BIG-SCREEN entertainment gets even bigger this week with the IMAX auditorium gala opening at Cineworld Sheffield –and we have got a big prize to celebrate, with 20 tickets to be won.

Our 10 lucky winners, who get to take a guest each, will be part of history as the first people to watch an IMAX presentation in Sheffield.

And they will also be among the first anywhere in the world to see new sci-fi blockbuster John Carter, certificate 12A, in 3D. It does not go on general release until Friday. The gala screening is the previous night.

John Carter, which features Sheffield’s own Wire star Dominic West, is the story of a Civil War vet who is transplanted to Mars, inhabited by 12ft-tall barbarians, monsters and a princess who is in desperate need of a saviour.

Cinema-goers will not believe their eyes or ears when they experience it on the massive 70ft wide and 39ft 5in high screen, with state-of-the-art surround sound at the Valley Centertainment complex in Attercliffe.
