Top blues star’s date at venue

a TOP female blues singer is heading to South Yorkshire – for a gig in a pub.

Chantel McGregor, voted female vocalist of the year in this year’s British Blues Awards, is performing at The Birdwell, Sheffield Road, Birdwell, Barnsley.

The gig is on the evening of Saturday, October 27.

A spokesman for The Birdwell said: “This will be a fantastic experience and night to remember.

“Chantel is an incredibly talented musician, with many exciting developments in her career.”

The performer released her debut album, Like No Other, in April 2011.

Chantel was also invited to perform on an album marking 100 years of the blues, released worldwide by Universal Records.

In January, Chantel was one of a select group of elite artists, who were invited to participate in the BBC Introducing Masterclass 2012
