South Yorkshire groups are urged to apply for grants to boost areas

Community groups and organisations with ideas to improve their areas are invited to apply for funding to turn them into reality.

People’s Health Trust has launched Active Communities in South Yorkshire – a funding programme for those wanting to improve deprived areas.

The money has been given to HealthRich through The Health Lottery – and the trust is looking to invest in projects that support people living in the most disadvantaged neighbourhoods of Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley and Doncaster.

Grants of between £5,000 and £50,000 are up for grabs.

The project must take place within a small area for example a village, and affect a few people.

See www.peopleshealthtrust.org.uk to apply by Thursday, March 6.
