Sheffield students in good humour for 24-hour Comic Relief event

SHEFFIELD students are taking part in a 24-hour comedy marathon for Comic Relief.

The University of Sheffield Students’ Union Comedy Revue Society is working with the Sheffield Students’ Union Raising and Giving (RAG) Committee to produce a comedy show that will feature local and national performers.

Andy Goddard, of the Sheffield Comedy Revue, said: “We are really excited to be working on this event bringing together comedians from across the country to raise money for Comic Relief.

“By working with RAG, the union and through the goodwill of the comedians involved volunteering their time, we’ll all complete this marathon together as winners.”

The comedy marathon will include stand up, sketch, musical and improvised comedy.

Performers include Sheffield Comedy Revue, The Shrimps - Sheffield Students’ Union’s Improvised Comedy Troupe, The Antics - Hallam Students’ Union’s Comedy Society - as well as others, all to be confirmed later in the month.

The 24-hours will be split into two, 12-hour sessions starting on March 8 in the Raynor Lounge at Bar One, Glossop Road.
