A carnival atmosphere will descend on Sheffield next week when the city’s annual Pride event takes place.
The festival, on Saturday, June 28, will begin with a huge parade through the streets of the city centre, starting at Tudor Square at 1.30pm and making its way along Surrey Street and Leopold Square towards Devonshire Green.
Participants are urged to come dressed in one of the colours of the rainbow flag, which is the symbol of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights movement.
There will then be 12 hours of entertainment on Devonshire Green, with live music, street performers, dancers and children’s activities.
