Sheffield painter brightens up for art exhibition

An Indian artist in Sheffield has shared her vibrant paintings with the public.

Gorima Basu, of Fulwood, painted a series of urban landscapes for the Open Up exhibition in her unique style.

The 28-year-old, who also works as an art lecturer at Kirklees College, West Yorkshire, said: “India is almost synonymous with vibrant brightness.

“That’s the reason why I find the interplay of light and shadow quite fascinating while painting.”
