A Sheffield youngster has been a street urchin on stage before – but now he has gone up in the world and is playing a young prince.
Marcello Berry, aged eight, has been on stage at the city’s Lyceum theatre this week, playing Caesarion, the son of Cleopatra and Julius Caesar, in the Northern Ballet production of Cleopatra, which ends its week-long run at the venue tonight.
At Christmas, the pupil of Bailey-Cox dance school was playing one of Fagin’s gang in Oliver! at the Crucible. He is pictured here with Michela Paolacco, who alternates between the roles of Cleopatra and one of her handmaidens.
