THE English Institute of Sport hosted a huge party to mark five years in Sheffield.
Former sports stars, Olympic hopefuls and VIPS teamed up for the EIS celebration as visitors were invited to take part in a range of events at the Attercliffe site.
There were netball taster sessions with the Sheffield Stormers, table tennis masterclasses with London 2012 hopefuls Paul Drinkhall and Darius Knight, and basketball with Sheffield Hatters.
Herol 'Bomber' Graham led boxing sessions, coach Peter Moore hosted athletics classes and Brunswick Badminton Club members offered tips on the game. The doors were also opened on the World Snooker Academy with Peter Ebdon and Ding Junhui offering tours.
EIS Sheffield was opened by Princess Anne in December 2003 and is the largest multi-sport English Institute of Sport facility in the country.
Sheffield athlete Jessica Ennis, world snooker star Ding, and the GB boxing squad, including Beijing gold medallist James Degale, have all made it their training base.
