Girls Aloud are back on tour with their Ten – The Hits Tour 2013, stopping off at the Motorpoint Arena Sheffield on Monday.
Britain’s most popular girl band will be performing songs from their latest album Ten, which is a collection of the BRIT award-winning group’s singles over the last ten years, as well as four new songs which Cheryl, Kimberley, Nadine, Nicola and Sarah have been working on over the past year.
They will be supported by former X Factor contestant Amelia Lily, it was confirmed today. It is the first time all of Girls Aloud’s greatest hits are together on one disc.
Luxury jewellery brand, Pandora, is the official tour sponsor. As part of the partnership each girl has designed their own Pandora charm bracelet, reflecting their personalities and story.
The unique bracelets are featured in the video for Something New. Since they debuted with Sound Of The Underground in 2002, Girls Aloud have had 20 top-ten singles and four Number One hits.
In total, the girls have sold more than eight million records and have clocked up over 45 million You Tube views, close to six million Facebook likes and three million Twitter followers.
Former X Factor contestant Amelia Lily will sing on all dates of the group’s Ten - The Hits Tour, which starts tonight in Newcastle. The 18-year-old today tweeted: “Ahhhh SO EXCITED TO BE OPENING FOR @GirlsAloud ON THEIR TOURRRR!! Who’s coming?!
Cheryl Cole from Girls Aloud confirmed the news on her Twitter feed. She said: “Amelia Lily is the first support act of the two to be announced. We will let you know the second support act as soon as it’s confirmed.”
