Musicians rock out to raise funds for mental health

Musicians in Barnsley are to raise money for two arts and health charities over two Sundays at charity concerts taking place on September 7 and 28.

Money raised at the free gigs, both at Barnsley Rock and Blues venue the Polish Club on Blackburn Lane, will be split equally between EnRich and Creative Recovery, both of which aim to help people reach their full creative potential.

Organiser Jason White, from arts website Alternative Barnsley, said: “EnRich was formed in memory of much-loved Barnsley College music teacher, Richard ‘Rich T’ Tolson, and Creative Recovery’s core mission is to use creativity to bring about social change and boost wellbeing.”

The first gig includes a 10-strong line-up and will begin from 1pm.
