A greenkeeper who has kept a Sheffield golf courses in top condition for 30 years had his efforts recognised at a long service awards.

Darren Butcher, aged 47, of Chapeltown, pictured right receving his award from Andy Carnall, has been at Tinsley Park Golf Course since 1984.

Head greenkeeper Darren said: “I’m so proud to receive this award.

“It’s fantastic to see golfers of all ages benefiting from the work I do to keep the greens in the best possible condition.”

Other long-serving Sheffield International Venues employees were thanked at the Ponds Forge event.
