Sheffield mum Lindita Rreci really nailed it when she took part in a national skills contest – taking home a silver medal.
The 34-year-old is studying for a nail beauty qualification at Sheffield College and was given the chance of showing off her expertise at The Skills Show, held at Birmingham NEC.
The show brings together the top 10 students from around the country in five sectors, including built environment, cultural and creative arts, engineering, IT and business administration and social and professional services.
Lindita’s ability to apply full nail extensions impressed judges who awarded her second place.
She said: “It was amazing to win the award. To come second against the top 10 students in the country has boosted my confidence.
“I found the course quite challenging when I first started, as I had little experience. However, through hard work and lots of practice, I feel encouraged to turn what I’ve learned into a career”.
The mum-of-three said she had always had a passion for beauty and nails and once her children were of school age was able to access a loan, which she found out about at an open evening.
