Festive fun has started in earnest in Dinnington after Rotherham Mayor John Foden officially switched on the Christmas lights and gave a warm welcome to Santa.
The occasion also marked the launch of the Dinnington Christmas Festival, which is designed to attract shoppers to the town.
Santa’s parade kicked off the entertainment, with the big fella escorted by Dinnington Brass Band.
There was a fair with rides for both adults and children, the market stayed open late and there was a chance to meet characters from Dinnington Operatic’s panto Cinderella.
