Thirteen-year-old Ella Kirkpatrick was the star of the show at an annual adventure film festival held at at north Derbyshire school.
Ella was at Hope Valley College’s event to answer questions after a showing of My Life, Big Climb - which showed how she scaled a 3,000 foot high cliff in California’s Yosemite Valley.
The fifth festival of its kind showcased 25 films on two screens along with a range of family activities, including a film making competition, indoor caving, a bouldering contest, slacklines and time trails on the college’s state of the art outdoor mountain bike track.
Also featured was Distilled, the winner of People’s Choice category at Kendal Film Festival, exploring Scottish winter climbing.
And there was a talk from author, mountaineer and Hope Valley resident Andy Cave on his life story and adventures in Patagonia.
