JUST what do you buy your teenage daughter for Christmas?
In Richard Pashley's case, the choice was simple.
His daughter Hayley, 13, has long since harboured an ambition to become a model.
But the Brinsworth teenager needed a helping hand to put together a portfolio.
So Richard arranged for a professional photo-shoot to be done and he couldn't have given Hayley a better Christmas gift.
The pictures she had taken have since been picked up by model agencies and have helped Hayley reach the semi finals of a national competition to find the next generation of young models.
Hundreds of young hopefuls from all around the country were entered into the UK Teen Model competition for girls aged 13 to 17.
And the judges were so impressed with Hayley they put the Brinsworth Comprehensive School girl through to the semi finals despite her being the youngest girl to enter.
Now Hayley, is hoping Star readers will vote for her by logging onto www.ukmodeloftheyear.com before June 17.
The final takes place on Sunday, June 20 at The Prince of Wales hotel in Southport.
There are prizes worth 8,500 up for grabs.
And that would be just the ticket for her dad who lives in Handsworth if only to cover the petrol and wear and tear on his car.
Richard says because Hayley has been so busy lately with photoshoots and meetings with modelling agencies he's thinking of changing his title from dad to unpaid taxi driver.
He said: "When she's not modelling Hayley is playing football.
"Last season she played for Brinsworth girls and now she's training with Handsworth Girls who she hopes to join next season.
"I have to drive to Brinsworth to pick her up from her mum's and then take her wherever she needs to go.
"I'm clocking up the miles I can tell you."
