Grocer boosts theatre group

the young people of Tickhill drama group Carr-Nival Academy of Arts have been presented with a cheque for £430.

The cash will help them continue with Saturday morning sessions in the Tithes Lane Pavilion and mount regular theatre productions.

The group, headed by director Simon Carr, enables children aged from five to 18 to learn music, acting and dancing as well as circus skills.

Christopher Taylor, of Taylor’s of Tickhill grocery store, presented the money from their Making a Difference Locally fund, with a specified amount of the cost of promoted goods going into the pot.

The latest award brings to £2,700 the total donated to good causes in Tickhill by Taylor’s since 2008.
