LIBRARY staff in Sheffield are preparing to welcome the author of the book behind an Oscar-nominated film.

Barnsley-born Joanne Harris, who wrote Chocolat, is visiting the city’s Central Library to talk about her life in writing.

The visit ties in with next month’s paperback publication of her latest novel, Peaches for Monsieur Le Cure, which returns to the setting and characters of Chocolat and brings the story up to date.

Chocolat was made into a movie, starring Juliette Binoche, and was nominated for the 2001 best film Oscar.
