Eateries vie to be named best

SOME of Derbyshire’s finest eateries are finalists in the prestigious Food and Drink Awards at Chatsworth on January 14.

Shortlisted entrants include Jaquest Food Specialists of Bolsover in the ‘local food hero’ category, and The George Hotel at Hathersage as restaurant of the year.

Rowley’s at Baslow, The Chequers Inn at Froggatt, and The Devonshire Arms at Beeley are all battling it out to be gastro pub of the year.

Koo Coffee and Deli in Chesterfield is hopeful of being named café of the year, Thyme to Eat in Chesterfield is vying to become ‘best healthy eating venue’, and the ‘best Derbyshire breakfast’ gong could be won by Blue Bistro in Chesterfield.

Best newcomer could be the Three Roofs Café at Castleton or Edensor Tea Cottage.
