DUTCH choristers are set to wow visitors to Sheffield Cathedral.

The Bavo Cantorij chamber choir, part of the choir of St Bavo’s Cathedral, Haarlem, are performing a free lunchtime recital at the venue on Friday.

It starts at 1.15pm and there will be a collection at the end.

A cathedral spokesman said: “We are delighted to welcome the choir of St Bavo’s Cathedral to Sheffield.

“The full choir numbers about 90 singers, with smaller ensembles being selected for particular music or special events. One of these groups is the chamber choir, which has about 30 singers.”

The programme will include music by Purcell, Mendelssohn, Poulenc and Mozart.
