BOXING trainer Brendan Ingle and climber Joe Simpson will become the latest Sheffield residents to be inducted into the city's Walk of Fame.
The pair will unveil their Sheffield Legends plaques in two ceremonies outside the Town Hall on Tuesday January 8.
Joe's ceremony will take place first, at 11am, when he is expected to be joined by the top male and female climbers in Britain, Lucy Creamer and Steve McClure, who are also from Sheffield.
Brendan's ceremony will be at 12.30pm. Both events will take place outside the main entrance of the Town Hall.
Brendan has been training boxers at St Thomas' Gym in Wincobank since the 1960s. Among those he has guided are Herol "Bomber" Graham, Prince Naseem Hamed, Johnny Nelson and Junior Witter.
Brendan was awarded an MBE in 1998 for his services and contributions to British boxing and his work with young people in Sheffield.
Joe Simpson is a renowned mountaineer, author and motivational speaker.
He was made famous by his award-winning book Touching the Void, which was subsequently made into a movie.
